Our Goals and Mission Statement
Offering to you and your family highly socialized puppies, being familiar with people, other animals and in training to go out side to potty. Many people teach the puppies on piddle pads, or newspaper ........once this has been introduced to a puppy it becomes a huge undertaking to reverse that form of house breaking. House breaking by taking the puppies outside --[some times in the beginning around the clock ] --- is very time consuming; but in the long run is a huge asset for the puppy and the new family. Our thought is to make the puppy transition to a new home as simple as humanly possible, and refined for the human family.
Being a hobby breeder makes every day a special event, even more so when we have puppies. We love the breed, love our companion Cotons. Never could we be convinced differently, our Cotons are family. We don't view the experience as a job or vocation but as a zest and love of life that walks on four legs.
- Number one concern with anyone involved with animals is health
- Exceptional blood lines
- Mating and artificial insemination is completed at our licensed state Veterinarian
- Confirmation solely to the FCI standards [ www.fci.be]
Additionally, bonding/socialization begins with the puppies two days after his/her birth. This requires special techniques. The most important issue will be touch thus creating a true form of bonding. Allowing the puppies to feel the warmth of your hands, stroking their belly and head.
The puppies in our home are exposed to all normal sounds and movement in the house, as well as outside. This allows the puppies to relax and can eliminate the development of fear of sounds or movement around them.
Our connection with the Coton de Tulear started over six years ago. After many months of research regarding the Coton de Tulear, we decided to purchase one Coton de Tulear female from Europe, then one was not enough, we fell in love with the breed, and realized that this breed would be wonderful for older, younger people, families of one or ten. For many years we associated small dogs as not having good personalities, dispositions and difficult to take care of and especially to teach. Now we have four Coton de Tulear companions and recently imported a male from excellent lineages all of European Champions and kennels.
We offer over thirty years experience with show, agility, obedience with Labrador Retrievers, now six years with the Coton de Tulear. Our champion Labradors we handled in the show ring, as well with the agility and the obedience. As well we have many years experience with farm animals in our youth.
We are retired and live on a ranch near the Colorado River. We have almost three acres around our house fenced so that our Cotons can play and explore and play in the agility tubes and a frame.
