What is a Puppy Mill?

Motive for breeding their animals is solely to make a profit. They are not interested in breed improvement, they use any available dogs of the breed for reproduction. Never do they specialize in one specific breed. Puppy mills do not promote themselves as they sell to brokers, pet stores, etc. Normally they have very little knowledge of the breed or breeds they are selling. Puppy mills do not ask that the puppy be spay or neutered. Puppy mills do not offer health guarantee beyond three to twelve days. Parents of the puppies are poorly groomed and appear old and under feed. Puppies and all dogs from puppy mills are very inexpensive, way below the standards offered by reputable breeders.
